Importing companies
Last updated June 25, 2026
Got a list — a market, a target sheet, a conference roster? Import the whole thing as a file instead of adding companies one by one.
What you can import
A CSV or Excel file (.csv, .xls, .xlsx), up to 10 MB. Two columns are required, the rest are optional:
| Column | Required | What it is |
|---|---|---|
company_name | Yes | The company's name |
industry | Yes | Its main industry or sector |
description | No | A short description |
website_url | No | Company website |
linkedin_url | No | LinkedIn company page |
Common header names work too (Company Name, Name, Website, URL). For the full format, see the CSV import template.
How to import
- Open Imports from the sidebar (you'll also see the upload on an empty Market Map).
- Under Market Mapping, upload your file.
- Alkemy reads it and adds the companies.

You don't need a spreadsheet to start:
Find and identify target companies in fintech that sell to banks.
What happens next
Your companies land in Market Maps, where Alkemy researches each one. From there: rerun research, mark the winners, export. See Market Maps.
⏱️ What to expect: researching a long list takes time and runs in the background. Leave the page and come back.
