Importing companies

Last updated June 25, 2026

Got a list — a market, a target sheet, a conference roster? Import the whole thing as a file instead of adding companies one by one.

What you can import

A CSV or Excel file (.csv, .xls, .xlsx), up to 10 MB. Two columns are required, the rest are optional:

ColumnRequiredWhat it is
company_nameYesThe company's name
industryYesIts main industry or sector
descriptionNoA short description
website_urlNoCompany website
linkedin_urlNoLinkedIn company page

Common header names work too (Company Name, Name, Website, URL). For the full format, see the CSV import template.

How to import

  1. Open Imports from the sidebar (you'll also see the upload on an empty Market Map).
  2. Under Market Mapping, upload your file.
  3. Alkemy reads it and adds the companies.

No file? Ask Luna

You don't need a spreadsheet to start:

Find and identify target companies in fintech that sell to banks.

What happens next

Your companies land in Market Maps, where Alkemy researches each one. From there: rerun research, mark the winners, export. See Market Maps.

⏱️ What to expect: researching a long list takes time and runs in the background. Leave the page and come back.
