Everything you need to know about how Alkemy is priced. Credits are the single currency for every action, and they arrive with your monthly plan.

How do credits work?

Your organization shares one credit balance — every member draws from the same pool. Credits are deducted automatically as you run actions, and each monthly batch stays usable until it expires 12 months after it was granted.

What does each action cost in credits?

• Company research — 50 credits.
• Re-running research — 10 credits.
• Re-running KeyIntel — 21 credits.
• Re-running ICP scoring — 5 credits.
• Chatting with the assistant — metered by actual AI usage, typically 1–2 credits per message.

How much can I do with each plan?

• Starter ($195/mo) ≈ 200 company researches per month.
• Growth ($995/mo) ≈ 1,200 company researches per month.
• Enterprise is sized to your team's volume — talk to us.

Is Alkemy a subscription?

Yes. Plans are billed monthly and renew automatically — you don't repurchase each month. Cancel anytime.

Do I get new credits every month?

Yes. Each billing cycle adds a fresh batch of credits to your balance.

Do unused credits roll over?

Yes. Leftover credits carry forward and stack on top of your new monthly batch.

Do credits expire?

Yes. Each monthly batch expires 12 months after it's granted — so January's credits lapse the following January, February's the next February.

Which credits get used first?

The oldest ones (FIFO), so credits closest to expiring are always spent first.

If I cancel, do I lose my credits?

No. Any credits you still hold stay usable until their own 12-month expiry — you can keep spending them without an active plan.

Can I upgrade my plan mid-month?

Yes, and it takes effect right away. You move to the higher plan immediately, we charge the prorated difference for the rest of the current cycle, and the extra credits for those remaining days are added to your balance on the spot — so you don't wait until the next renewal to get more.

Can I downgrade?

Yes. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep the plan you've already paid for until then, and the lower plan (and its smaller monthly credit amount) starts at your next renewal. There's no mid-cycle refund, and any credits you already have stay put until their own 12-month expiry.

Why is the larger plan cheaper per credit?

The bigger plan comes with a lower per-credit price — it drops from about $0.020 per credit on Starter to about $0.017 on Growth, so heavier users get more research per dollar.
