What to expect: timing, credits & troubleshooting

Last updated June 25, 2026

A few things that make Alkemy predictable instead of mysterious. When in doubt, reread this page.

Research takes a little time

Alkemy reads many live sources, so research, briefs, and packets take a few minutes — not seconds. It all runs in the background:

  • Watch Luna's progress as a to-do list in the chat, or a running state on the tab.
  • Leave the page, do something else, come back. Nothing is lost.

"I clicked something and nothing happened"

It's almost always working — the result just lands somewhere specific:

  • Run Track now → new items on the Signals tab.
  • Generate Prep Packet → the brief on the Prep Packet tab.
  • A research run → the account's tabs (or the market-map row) fill in.

Give it a moment. A running state means Luna is on it.

Credits

Alkemy spends credits to do work — research, agent runs.

  • Balance: Settings ▸ Billing & Usage (the Overview tab).
  • Top up: Pricing → Add Credits.
  • A member, not an admin? You see Usage but can't buy — ask an admin.

⚠️ Luna stopping early, or a thin result? Check your credit balance first — low credits are the usual cause.

Why some results are partial

Alkemy researches public sources, and some sites limit automated reading (LinkedIn, for one). A profile may be incomplete or vary between runs. Rerun research to fill the gaps.

If something looks stuck

  1. Give it a minute — it may still be running.
  2. Refresh the page.
  3. Rerun the action — Run Track now, Rerun Research.
  4. Still wrong? Help (?) ▸ Contact us. A screenshot helps.

What Alkemy is (and isn't) yet

Alkemy is a specialized workspace for winning accounts — tracking, connections, meeting prep. Not a general chatbot. Judge it on that job: the repeatable account work you'd otherwise do by hand. That's where it shines.
